Canon hosted a Business Forum in Vienna to showcase new technologies and processes and needed a way to engage attendees, capture individual interests and measure booth and session popularity. To solve this, Canon used the Anyline mobile OCR SDK to enable badge scanning as part of the event app and on-site tablets, turning registration and booth interaction into a gamified, trackable customer experience.

Anyline’s OCR SDK scanned badges for entry, booth interactions and a final info point to generate customized brochures (or email follow-ups), while collecting analytics on attendance and interests. The solution delivered measurable insights—520 total visitors (402 external)—plus data on most-popular topics, booth and workshop attendance, and enabled targeted post-event marketing, improving the customer journey and future event planning through Anyline’s analytics.
