How mySugr Improves Diabetes Therapy with Mobile Scanning

mySugr, a Vienna-based diabetes service company (makers of the Diabetes Logbook, Junior Logbook and the mySugr Importer), faced a persistent challenge: users had to manually enter blood sugar readings from many different, non‑connected meters. mySugr partnered with Anyline and adopted the Anyline SDK to explore a “scan the displays” approach that could automate capture of 7‑segment meter readouts and reduce manual data entry.

Using the Anyline SDK, the teams built the mySugr Importer (launched June 2014), which scans meter displays, extracts blood glucose values and imports them directly into the mySugr Diabetes Logbook. The Anyline-powered solution met the high accuracy needs of medical data, brought unconnected meters into the 21st century, and has been widely adopted—resulting in many downloads and active users who now enjoy a much simpler daily therapy routine.
