How Assist Digital Integrated Meter Self-Reading in their Utility App

Assist Digital, a pan‑European agency that combines AI and human expertise to improve customer experience, was asked to build a multi‑service utility app for an Italian utility serving more than four million customers. The challenge was to give private and business clients a single platform to manage electricity, water and gas usage and to enable easy self‑reporting from many different meter types (analog and digital); Assist Digital chose Anyline’s mobile meter reading solution for the metering capability.

Assist Digital integrated Anyline’s meter‑reading SDK into the app so customers can scan meters with a standard smartphone camera and send readings directly to the provider. The Anyline integration—selected for its speed, accuracy and ease of integration—made meter reporting simple across gas, electricity and water, improved customer convenience (manage consumption and pay bills on the go) and supports the utility’s service for over four million customers.
