Case Study: Global Pharmaceutical Company achieves $2M in supply chain savings with Antuit

A Antuit Case Study

Preview of the Global Pharmaceutical Company Case Study

Supply Chain Prescriptions Translate to $2 Million in Bottom-line Value for a Global Pharmaceutical Company

Global Pharmaceutical Company faced long lead times and a complex global supply chain for its top product, Isotretinoin, and needed to understand how different network configurations, inventory policies and costs would affect service and profitability. They engaged Antuit to apply supply chain optimization expertise—using strategic network design and inventory optimization models—to evaluate impacts of lead times, minimum order quantities, batch sizes, yields and testing costs.

Over a two-month engagement Antuit built a baseline cost-to-serve model and ran scenario analyses (new manufacturing/packing locations, transportation modes, inventory buffers), revealing that air transport was preferable to sea and that a proposed new packaging plant would be less profitable than expected. Antuit’s recommendations delivered nearly US$2 million in supply chain savings through targeted network and inventory adjustments.
