Brian Impact Foundation powers their search for the next generation of social innovators with Claude

The Brian Impact Foundation, a nonprofit focused on supporting technology-driven social innovation, faced a challenge due to its lean team of 13 people. They struggled to efficiently review a large volume of unstructured data to identify and equitably assess fellowship candidates from a broad pool. To address this, they turned to vendor Anthropic and its Claude Platform for a solution.

Using Anthropic's Claude, the foundation built the Benevolence Enhancing Expert System (BEES) to process and summarize vast amounts of data. This solution enabled them to review 100 times more candidates (20,000 vs. 200) and perform three times more reviews per candidate. The integration of Claude allowed the small team to manage millions in grants more effectively and create a more thorough and equitable selection process for their fellowships.
