WorkSafeBC boosts task success to 82% with Anthro-Tech website redesign

WorkSafeBC, a provider of health and safety resources for British Columbians, faced a challenge with its outdated and disorganized website, which had grown to over 9,000 pages. This lack of a centralized strategy and content governance resulted in a poor user experience and a negative perception of the agency. To address this, WorkSafeBC engaged the vendor Anthro-Tech for a comprehensive website redesign centered on user needs.

Anthro-Tech implemented a solution using user research, a simplified navigation structure, a faceted-search design, and fully responsive templates. The project included staff training and a new content strategy to ensure a unified voice. The results were significant, with usability testing showing the task success rate jumping from over 58% on the old site to 82% on the new pre-launch prototype, dramatically improving access to critical health and safety information.
