The Washington State Department of Transportation partnered with Anthro-Tech to address the poor usability and lack of governance of its employee intranet, a critical tool for its 7,000+ employees that became even more essential during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Anthro-Tech employed a human-centered design approach to completely overhaul the intranet. The solution involved a massive 92% content reduction, a new navigable structure, and comprehensive content governance training. The redesigned site made finding information and completing tasks significantly easier for employees, a success validated through extensive user engagement that included 20 interviews and a survey of 2,846 staff members.
