Why University of Central Arkansas switched from Blackbaud NetCommunity to iModules

University of Central Arkansas, a public university with about 11,500 students and more than 60,000 alumni, found Blackbaud NetCommunity increasingly unable to meet its needs—rigid event registration fields, limited email marketing, unreliable data exchange with Raiser’s Edge, and overall inflexibility. In 2014 the university evaluated alternatives and moved to the Encompass platform and iModules website provided by Anthology.

Anthology’s Encompass/iModules solution enabled custom event fields (keeping Raiser’s Edge cleaner), event registration with integrated giving, branded and targeted online giving forms, reliable imports via Import‑O‑Matic, and unrestricted, segmented email sends. As a result UCA reported a 164% increase in online giving in FY15 versus the prior year and a 184% increase from July 2014–June 2016; its first Day of Giving raised >$30,000 in 2015 (goal $11,698) and totals grew to >$36,000 in 2016 and $41,504 from 1,154 donors in 2017, while event-registration donations have generated more than $7,000—outcomes the university attributes to Anthology’s platform.
