Using ePortfolios to Gather Data for Accreditation and More

The University of South Carolina worked with Anthology to address the challenge of centralizing and expanding assessment data across its School of Education for accreditation and program review. Using Anthology’s Chalk & Wire ePortfolio solution, the university sought a systematic way to collect, store and share student work and assessment data while making it easy for faculty and field supervisors to enter evaluations.

Anthology’s Chalk & Wire was rolled out across advanced and initial licensure programs with focused training and close collaboration between the Office of Assessment and Accreditation, college leadership and faculty. The system streamlined unit-wide data collection for the CAEP accreditation visit and state reporting, allowed evidence to be uploaded and shared with the State Department, enabled virtual lesson reviews for online cohorts, and helped students build portable portfolios for interviews — outcomes that earned the University of South Carolina the 2019 Champion Campus Labs Award.
