The University of Pittsburgh faced an inefficient year-end fundraising program that sent more than 440,000 alumni solicitation emails and wanted to reduce volume while improving response. They partnered with Anthology and used the Encompass platform to pursue a more targeted, personalized approach.
Using Anthology’s Encompass, Pitt ran a segmented, concise email campaign with pre-populated donor details and giving history. The campaign cut solicitations by 370,000 (down to roughly 70,000), lifted open rates by 43%, increased the number of donors by 91%, and drove a 158% increase in total gift dollars.
