Knox College - Customer Case Study

Knox College, a private liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, faced the task of maintaining donor participation during a recession with a trustee pledge of $100,000 if roughly 5,000 donors gave—prompting the "5,000 = $100,000" Annual Fund challenge. To run the campaign, Knox partnered with Anthology and used the Encompass platform to drive outreach and engagement.

Using Anthology's Encompass, Knox promoted the challenge across monthly e‑newsletters, event invitations, reminder emails, a webpage showcasing mailed Post-it® notes from alumni, and social posts. The effort produced 5,523 total donors, more than 1,175 online gifts totaling $263,027, raised over $3 million for the Knox Fund, and brought in nearly 600 new donors—exceeding the participation goal.
