Knox College needed to rethink its second annual day of giving amid COVID-19 and national social unrest, rescheduling the event for June and shifting messaging to a "Knox Proud" theme that highlighted alumni on the front lines and the role of liberal arts graduates. Working with Anthology (iModules), Knox sought a way to solicit support sensitively while still engaging distinct constituent groups.
Anthology supported a segmented, challenge-based approach so Knox could target specific populations without overwhelming donors, keeping unsubscribe rates low and personalizing the donor experience. The results: Knox more than doubled its donor goal (1,837 goal vs. 2,689 donors), raised over $1.4 million, drew 300+ alumni to a virtual event, and had 50+ volunteers or challenge donors—outcomes Anthology helped enable while Knox plans further analysis of lapsed and acquired donor data.
