Improving student engagement and data insights through a centralized, co-curricular initiative

Kennesaw State University, a public four‑year institution with more than 43,000 students, faced the challenge of boosting student engagement, creating a stronger sense of belonging, and capturing co‑curricular activity data across its dual campuses. To address this, KSU partnered with Anthology and used anthology Engage to centralize event promotion and track student participation.

Anthology helped KSU launch Scrappy’s Bucket List in 2021, a gamified co‑curricular pathway managed through anthology Engage that lets students “tap in” to earn rewards and record progress. Using Anthology’s platform for event tracking, cohort comparisons, and custom reporting, KSU saw nearly 60% of students make progress in year one, 5,958 students reach the 10% milestone by May 2023, and three students complete 100% of the challenge within two years—yielding measurable engagement gains, stronger student belonging, and richer data to inform retention efforts.
