How UAT successfully migrated Anthology Student from on-premises to the cloud and enhanced processes

The University of Advancing Technology, a four‑year private institution in Tempe, Arizona, faced the challenge of migrating their long‑customized Anthology Student SIS from on‑premises to the cloud. Staff worried about losing the backend control they had grown used to and whether years of customizations and legacy reports would survive the move, while remaining on‑prem blocked access to cloud‑optimized features, security updates, and the Student Web App.

Anthology partnered with UAT to form a steering committee and execute a project plan to migrate data, update security and user interfaces, and convert legacy reports, with ongoing weekly reviews post‑go‑live. The migration delivered measurable gains: roughly 80% of users now use the cloud web client, UAT is on the latest Anthology Student version (removing infrastructure and upgrade burden), many obsolete customizations were eliminated, and the institution gained cloud tools like report builder, data views, and a searchable help menu—positioning UAT to pursue further automation such as financial aid workflows.
