How Anthology Adopt Helped Southern Cross University Build Connection with Remote Learners

Southern Cross University (SCU), a public university with 17,000+ students—43% of whom study fully online—faced the challenge of rolling out Anthology® Blackboard base navigation across campus and remote learners without overwhelming or losing students who access support less frequently. To communicate the interface changes inside the LMS and replace a less engaging previous tool, SCU partnered with Anthology and adopted Anthology Adopt (powered by Pendo) to deliver in‑platform guidance.

Anthology built a twelve‑step, multimedia walk‑through that every user completed on first sign‑in, including an end‑of‑guide feedback step and role‑segmented analytics. The Anthology Adopt implementation delivered a smoother, more professional onboarding experience, cut down Help Desk pressure by capturing feedback in‑tool, enabled SCU to analyze student versus faculty needs, and has already been expanded to highlight underused features and inform targeted campaigns.
