Growing a Culture of Engagement at the University of Rhode Island

The University of Rhode Island partnered with Anthology and its Anthology® Engage platform to address a siloed student involvement experience: although Engage had been on campus since 2019, URI was only using the elections feature and lacked a dedicated champion to centralize and streamline student organization and event management. In June 2023 URI hired Lucas DeWitt to fully implement Engage and build a centralized hub (branded URInvolved) so students and staff could better find, run, and promote involvement opportunities.

Anthology worked with URI to launch URInvolved, onboarding student orgs with self-managed pages, enabling event submissions and attendance tracking, and engaging campus partners like New Student Transitions and Multicultural Student Services. Since the full relaunch in August 2023, Anthology Engage has driven measurable adoption at URI: 9,300+ user logins, 2,500+ involved users, 2,000+ events created, and 200+ organization pages—streamlining approvals, boosting campus-wide engagement, and providing data to inform student success initiatives.
