Portland State University faced a retention and advising challenge: a large share of its students are first‑generation, nontraditional, or transfer students who can fall through the cracks, and advisors were working with fragmented systems. To address this, Portland State partnered with Anthology and deployed an Anthology CRM–based advisor workspace to centralize student data and streamline advisor–student interactions.

Anthology integrated its CRM with PSU’s student information system and data warehouse to deliver a single‑sign‑on advisor portal with student check‑in/queueing, direct links to degree audits and analytics, and import of legacy notes. The Anthology solution has recorded over 1,000 advising appointments since launch and imported 50,000 older appointments, reducing advisor administrative work, improving student satisfaction, and providing a unified platform for ongoing student‑success initiatives.
