Enabling Faculty to Create Consistent Teaching and Learning Experiences Across Twenty-three Campuses and Online

The Independent Institute of Education needed to ensure consistent, high‑quality teaching across its four brands and 23 campuses — and to move lecturers beyond “click‑through” use of the LMS to effective online facilitation. To address this, Anthology delivered the Blackboard Digital Teaching and Learning Series (using Blackboard Learn as the LMS), providing a structured certification program for faculty, instructional designers and support staff.

Anthology rolled out a blended delivery of the program from 2017, with about 145 participants completing one or more courses (roughly 50% of whom are actively teaching), and reported higher online engagement and stronger pedagogical practice. Measurable impacts include improved student performance (first‑year test averages up 10 points from 72% to 82%; project +2 points; exams +2 points; throughput +3 points) and second‑year gains (projects +5 points, exams +5 points, throughput +9 points), reduced grading time (about half), increased attendance and broader adoption of LMS tools — demonstrating Anthology’s role in producing more consistent, effective teaching and learning.
