A Anthology Case Study
Coppin State University, an HBCU in Baltimore serving a diverse, often commuter-based student body, faced challenges boosting recruitment, enrollment and retention by communicating more personally and at scale. To modernize outreach and career planning, Coppin partnered with Anthology and deployed Microsoft-based Anthology solutions, notably Anthology Reach (Apply and Succeed modules) and Occupation Insight, to deliver personalized, AI-driven engagement and labor-market insight.
Anthology implemented Reach with Content Blocks to create customized messaging journeys and integrated Occupation Insight to provide real-time job demand, salary and location data for students and faculty. The initiative increased personalized student touchpoints across admissions and enrollment, enabled timely nudges that improved engagement and conversion efforts, and helped faculty realign programs to local employer needs; Occupation Insight also strengthened recruitment with partners such as Montgomery Community College. While the case study offers qualitative rather than numeric metrics, Coppin reports stronger student engagement, deeper faculty–IT collaboration and a planned university-wide rollout of the Anthology solutions.
