Drexel Alumni Gives Back with Annual Alumni Turkey Project

Drexel Alumni ran its 46th Annual Alumni Turkey Project in 2019 to fight food insecurity in Philadelphia but faced the challenge of maintaining giving momentum during the busy holiday season. Working with Anthology (iModules), the team set an initial campaign goal of $50,000 — including an $8,000 target for #GivingTuesday — while seeking to engage alumni, students, parents, faculty and friends.

Anthology’s iModules tools supported a targeted, segmented email campaign, real‑time campaign scoreboards and event‑registration features for volunteers, plus simple designation asks (e.g., $25 per meal) and new donation options for a partner organization. Using these tactics, Drexel Alumni exceeded its goal by 42%, raising $71,231 from 1,092 donors (with #GivingTuesday bringing in over $14,000), funded more than 2,000 turkeys and 13,000 nonperishable items, recruited 100+ volunteers and generated 500+ holiday cards — setting new project records.
