A Anthology Case Study
Columbus State Community College (CSCC), a two-year, 100% commuter institution, found that traditional four-year engagement playbooks didn’t meet the needs of its diverse, often nontraditional student body. Led by program coordinator Genevieve Sharron, CSCC partnered with Anthology and deployed Anthology Engage to better align engagement opportunities with students’ busy schedules, varied goals, and need for flexible, remote or evening activities.
Using Anthology Engage, CSCC analyzed log-ins, organization memberships, account duration and other platform metrics to segment students into not active, actively engaged, and highly engaged groups and to correlate those segments with demographics, course success, and retention — revealing second-year students as the most engaged. Anthology’s tools were used to roll out targeted communications, lower-commitment public events, co-curricular paths, Event Check-in attendance tracking, and centralized group records and finances; these changes increased accessibility, improved assessment flexibility, and produced measurable shifts in platform activity and retention patterns.
