Coe College's #KohawkDay Raises $330,000

Coe College, a small private liberal arts college in Cedar Rapids with about 1,400 students and 15,000 alumni records, wanted to increase the impact of its annual #KohawkDay giving campaign by 20% in 2016 and better engage soon-to-be graduates. Working with Anthology (formerly iModules), Coe used Anthology’s online giving, email marketing, event management, and social media integration tools to power the campaign.

Anthology supported a multi-channel strategy that included a campus hub, targeted senior/class-gift appeals, a mentoring pilot and young‑alumni networking, a streamlined four-email cadence (open rates +3%), 50+ social ambassadors, a dedicated social media staffer, hourly donor thank‑yous, 13 alumni watch parties, and Anthology’s campaign progress indicator. The result: $330,000 raised ($190K donations + $140K challenge grants), a 160% increase over 2015; more than 600 donors (109 first‑time, 262 young alumni), 141 faculty/staff gifts, and strong social engagement (700 Facebook reactions, 101 Instagram posts, 258 tweets, 1,913 YouTube views).
