Changing Hearts and Minds with a Humanistic Approach to Change Management

Georgian College, a seven‑campus community college in Central Ontario serving 12,000+ students, needed a modern, mobile‑friendly and more accessible LMS after more than two decades on Blackboard Learn Original. To meet the needs of a largely young and international student body and to ensure consistency across courses, the college chose Anthology’s Blackboard Learn Ultra and faced the added challenge of securing faculty buy‑in across multiple campuses.

Anthology worked with Georgian’s Move2Ultra Team on a humanistic change‑management approach — face‑to‑face “traveling roadshows,” tailored communications, and a three‑cohort migration plan — enabling the college to complete the upgrade to Learn Ultra at all seven campuses within one year. The implementation (including Anthology Ally accessibility features) made course creation and navigation easier for faculty and students, reduced time spent managing content, earned positive feedback from both groups, and was recognized with the Move2Ultra Team’s 2023 Award of Distinction.
