Central Michigan University Winner of Campus Management’s Excellence Award for Student Success

Central Michigan University, one of Michigan’s largest public universities serving about 27,000 students, faced challenges in improving engagement, retention, and completion for a growing population of nontraditional, online, and first‑time learners. To address these needs, Central Michigan University deployed Anthology’s CRM solution integrated with its student information system to create a more complete view of students and support targeted retention efforts.

Anthology enabled CMU to segment populations, run highly targeted campaigns (for seasoned online students, new online students, or those with risky course loads), and evaluate course mix to help returning students find an ideal balance. As a result, Anthology’s solution improved identification of at‑risk students across modalities, allowed staff to correlate outreach with monthly retention rates, boosted engagement and completion efforts, and prompted broader campus adoption of the CRM.
