WWF builds a waste management model for 5 ReSource: Plastic companies with Anthesis

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) faced the challenge of helping companies turn their plastic commitments into measurable action through its ReSource: Plastic initiative. WWF selected Anthesis as a consultancy partner to develop a global model for tracking the waste management outcomes of plastic packaging.

Anthesis developed the ReSource Footprint Tracker's "Waste Management Model" to estimate how a company's plastic is recycled, landfilled, incinerated, or mismanaged. The solution involved building a country-level database and a model that provides waste management information specific to each nation. This provides data to inform companies where to focus resources to reduce plastic waste and offers a platform for collaboration.
