Case Study: a food waste recycling company achieves a bespoke cost-benefit analysis tool with Anthesis

A Anthesis Case Study

Preview of the Food Waste Recycling Company Case Study

WRAP’s goal was to produce a Cost Benefit Analysis tool that would be available to local authorities and Anaerobic Digesters plant operators

Anthesis was commissioned by WRAP to develop a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) tool for the food waste recycling sector. The challenge was to create a tool that would help local authorities and anaerobic digester plant operators analyze the financial viability of implementing interventions to increase household food waste collection for recycling.

The solution involved Anthesis engaging with industry stakeholders to gather insights before developing a bespoke, macro-enabled Excel spreadsheet. The final CBA tool allows users to input local data to generate customized assessments. As a key project impact, Anthesis delivered an easy-to-use tool that WRAP has since successfully implemented in collaboration with a number of local authorities in London.
