Case Study: Wokingham Borough Council achieves MEES compliance insights with Anthesis

A Anthesis Case Study

Preview of the Wokingham Borough Council Case Study

Wokingham Borough Council was looking for a partner to assist them in understanding and assessing the various routes to compliance with the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES)

Wokingham Borough Council required assistance to achieve compliance with the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) regulations for its extensive portfolio of private rented properties. The council sought to understand different compliance pathways and their associated costs before applying the findings to its entire building stock. They engaged Anthesis for its energy efficiency and compliance consulting services.

Anthesis assessed 36 buildings, prepared Energy Performance Certificates, and created a detailed report. This report outlined two viable routes to MEES compliance, complete with simulations of energy conservation measures and their financial implications, including net present value and return on investment. This enabled Wokingham Borough Council to make an informed, cost-effective decision on achieving compliance and provided a model for future assessments of its remaining properties.
