The Anthesis team responded to Resource London’s ITT’s requirements to develop and deliver a cost of ‘contamination’ toolkit in line with their requirements

The customer, Resource London, faced a challenge in understanding the financial and operational impact of contamination in recycling streams across the city's boroughs. A lack of consistent measurement made it impossible to quantify the problem, so they commissioned Anthesis to develop a specialized toolkit to address this issue.

Anthesis developed a 'cost of contamination' Excel-based toolkit by first facilitating workshops with a key stakeholder group to establish specifications. After creating the tool, they incorporated feedback from borough testing to ensure its usability. The final, publicly available toolkit allows London authorities to calculate the true cost of contamination, providing Resource London with a consistent framework for measurement and planning.
