Case Study: SRP achieves stronger sustainability integration and emissions reduction with Anthesis

A Anthesis Case Study

Preview of the SRP Case Study

Salt River Project worked with Anthesis to establish and implement a set of long-term sustainability goals

SRP, a major Arizona utility, had historically struggled to engage its internal stakeholders and establish a concrete, long-term sustainability plan within its organization. To address this challenge and adapt to changing industry expectations, SRP partnered with the sustainability consultancy Anthesis to develop and implement a comprehensive strategic vision.

Anthesis worked directly with SRP to create a governance structure and a set of ambitious 2035 sustainability goals through extensive research, benchmarking, and workshops. Their solution involved embedding sustainability into all business operations and, critically, securing buy-in from goal owners by aligning strategies with their priorities. As a result, sustainability is now deeply integrated into SRP's culture. The initiative is expected to reduce the utility's generating emissions by 36 million metric tons of CO2 compared to previous plans, solidifying its role as a community leader. The success is greatly attributed to the strategy and ongoing support provided by Anthesis.
