Preview of the Large Online Retailer Case Study

Reviewing a Large Online Retailer’s Procurement Processes to Improve ESG Areas Within its Supply Chain

A large online electrical retailer operating in the UK and Germany required assistance understanding how to integrate sustainability into its operations and proactively manage associated risks. They engaged the vendor, Anthesis, to review their procurement policies and processes for Goods Not for Resale (GNFR) and to identify key gaps and areas for improvement within their supply chain.

Anthesis analyzed the retailer's procurement processes against best practices and conducted stakeholder interviews. They delivered a prioritized list of GNFR categories by risk and developed an enhanced supplier onboarding questionnaire with new social and environmental requirements. The results included improved transparency and traceability in the supply chain. Anthesis also developed a new Supplier Code of Conduct and a revised Modern Slavery Statement to ensure compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
