A Anthesis Case Study
Anthesis partnered with Nature’s Touch Frozen Foods to tackle significant food waste occurring throughout the company’s production facilities in Canada. The challenge was to identify and prevent losses of fruit, such as blueberries, mangoes, and strawberries, which were being wasted at various stages of the processing line, including during packaging and transfers between machinery.
The solution implemented by Anthesis involved a detailed assessment that led to 13 specific recommendations, including mechanical fine-tuning, installing guides and guards, and sealing gaps in equipment. These changes helped Nature’s Touch avert over 276,000 kg of food waste annually, saving $824,100 per year and providing the equivalent of 195,000 meals. The work by Anthesis fundamentally changed how the company views and manages waste, embedding sustainability as a core operational pillar.
