R2ANTENNA - Customer Case Study

R2ANTENNA, a developer of wireless communications and charging solutions, faced the challenge of designing customized coils for wearable wireless charging without relying on slow, costly experimental prototyping. To shorten the design cycle and ensure accurate results, they used ANSYS simulation tools — Maxwell 3D, HFSS and Nexxim — to model electromagnetic behavior, extract circuit parameters and assess human-body exposure.

Using ANSYS Maxwell 3D to extract circuit values, ANSYS Nexxim to optimize tuning capacitors (CS and CL) and ANSYS HFSS to map electric fields on a human model, R2ANTENNA reduced engineering time by 50% and engineering cost by 50% or more, achieved a highly accurate optimized design that would be nearly impossible with trial-and-error, and increased its competitiveness in customized wireless charging.
