Phoenix Analysis & Design Technologies - Customer Case Study

Phoenix Analysis & Design Technologies (PADT) designs custom high‑speed blowers for stationary and automotive hydrogen fuel cell systems and faces compressed development schedules, aggressive efficiency and cost targets, harsh operating environments, high rotational speeds, and elevated internal temperatures. To address these challenges, PADT turned to ANSYS — using ANSYS CFX, BladeGen and the broader ANSYS product suite — to integrate simulation throughout the development process.

ANSYS tools were integrated with PADT’s parametric CAD via ANSYS Workbench and applied across conceptual design, detailed aerodynamic and electromagnetic analysis, cooling and vibration studies, and automated reporting and scripting. By standardizing on the ANSYS suite, Phoenix Analysis & Design Technologies found problems much earlier, significantly reduced testing and redesign, met aggressive efficiency and robustness goals, shortened time to the test bench and customer, and lowered engineering time and overhead.
