Mindware Engineering - Customer Case Study

Mindware Engineering, a global provider of engineering solutions for aerospace and other industries, faced the challenge of generating parametric hexahedral meshes from complex aircraft cabin geometries for projects like the Bombardier CRJ700 passenger comfort study. They needed a workflow tolerant of varying CAD quality (gaps, overlaps, protrusions), fast turn-around, and an interface that end users could easily modify to update geometry parameters such as seat count, window and bulkhead positions.

ANSYS supplied the solution with ANSYS ICEM CFD, whose parametric CAD tools, replay/scripting capabilities and flexible interface allowed Mindware to build custom GUIs and vertical applications for rapid hexa meshing. Using ANSYS ICEM CFD, Mindware reduced tasks that previously took days or weeks to a short time, delivered high-quality hexa meshes, enabled easy user-driven geometry updates, and tied mesh generation to optimization software to improve component design and performance.
