A ANSYS Case Study
Pi Makina, a Turkish construction equipment manufacturer operating since 1972 with machines in 25 countries, faced the challenge of designing cabin main frames that met worldwide strength standards and could withstand random disturbances. To establish a standard solver for their design problems and better detect structural deficiencies, Pi Makina adopted ANSYS® Professional™ and other ANSYS software tools.
Using ANSYS, Pi Makina developed APDL code and a customized ANSYS user interface to simplify and standardize finite element analyses of booms and cabin frames. The ANSYS-based workflow allowed the company to interpret results against required strength specifications, making ANSYS software a crucial part of their design process—Pi Makina now checks almost every structural modification with ANSYS before applying changes, improving robustness and compliance with global certification requirements.
