Marathon Electric India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Regal Beloit, needed to move from physical testing to simulation-based noise estimation for new cooling fan designs used on its TerraMAX® motor platforms. Using ANSYS® Fluent for aeroacoustics proved challenging, so Marathon engaged ANSYS Mentor Expert Services to accelerate development of a reliable simulation methodology.

ANSYS delivered hands-on mentoring and aeroacoustics training using ANSYS Fluent through its ANSYS Mentor Expert services, applying CFD techniques to predict fan noise, identify noise sources, and recommend reductions. As a result, ANSYS helped Marathon Electric India Pvt. Ltd. predict TerraMAX® fan noise at the preliminary design stage, speed up noise-estimation development, and build in-house aeroacoustics expertise for future projects.
