Case Study: AMOG Consulting achieves faster, streamlined multidisciplinary offshore design with ANSYS simulation software

A ANSYS Case Study

Integrated Simulation Environment for Offshore Engineering Applications

AMOG Consulting, an Australian engineering consultancy specializing in offshore and marine engineering, faced the need to accelerate its simulation-to-design workflow, improve quality by using a single 3‑D CAD model across disciplines, and bridge CAD, hydrodynamic, fluid dynamic and structural analyses. To meet these challenges AMOG integrated ANSYS software into its process, using Autodesk Inventor for parameterized CAD models and ANSYS products including ANSYS Mechanical, ANSYS AQWA, ANSYS CFX, ANSYS Workbench and ANSYS APDL for multidisciplinary simulation.

Using Autodesk Inventor models exchanged into ANSYS DesignModeler and meshed in ANSYS Workbench/CFX, AMOG automated data transfer between AQWA, CFX and structural FEA so loads flow directly without manual rework. The ANSYS-driven workflow eliminated time‑costly model preparation and data exchange, cut overall simulation time significantly, and gave engineers more time for quality control, result interpretation and design optimization, enabling more robust, budget‑conscious designs.
