HyPerComp Inc. - Customer Case Study

HyPerComp, Inc., a U.S. aerospace software company that develops high‑performance computational technologies for defense and commercial applications, needed a fast, reliable way to convert customer IGES geometries and produce high‑quality unstructured meshes for computational electromagnetics and other physics‑based simulations. HyPerComp selected ANSYS and its ICEM CFD products (ICEM CFD Tetra and Hexa) to address geometry conversion, mesh generation and repair while reducing cycle time.

ANSYS provided ICEM CFD tools to import IGES geometries, automatically generate tetrahedral and hexahedral unstructured meshes, and export domain data into HyPerComp’s UX format; the ICEM CFD Mesh Editor also supplied powerful repair capabilities. The ANSYS solution produced high‑quality grids with minimal preprocessing, significantly shortened turnaround, reduced cycle time for HyPerComp’s CEM workflows, and improved overall efficiency in their domain‑decomposition processes.
