A ANSYS Case Study
Husky Injection Molding Systems, a leading supplier of injection molding equipment based in Luxembourg (with development facilities in Bolton, Canada), faced the challenge of developing large injection molding machines that were lighter to cut manufacturing and transportation costs, faster and more reliable, and more energy efficient. To address these goals, Husky partnered with ANSYS and adopted ANSYS Workbench and ANSYS DesignSpace for its design and analysis workflows.
ANSYS implemented Workbench and DesignSpace to provide efficient contact handling for nonlinear assembly analysis, additional pre‑analysis during construction, and common simulation methods across teams. The result was a dramatic reduction in analysis time—from about a week to roughly half a day—greater FEM throughput enabling higher quality and faster innovation, and the development of new patented products such as the "Reflex" platen family.
