Emhart Glass Reduces the “Heat” on Bottle Creation With ANSYS SpaceClaim

Bucher Emhart Glass’s Emhart Glass Research Center, where senior mechanical engineer Pierre Ngankeu performs multi‑physics analysis of glass molding, faced lengthy, complex preprocessing for heat, fluid and air models that often took days per simulation. The team used ANSYS POLYFLOW for analysis and engaged ANSYS to address the bottleneck in model cleanup, meshing and foreign CAD handling.

ANSYS delivered ANSYS SpaceClaim to simplify defeaturing, volume extraction and direct geometry edits and to integrate changes automatically into the ANSYS workflow. As a result, Emhart Glass cut model-preparation time from over a day to under 30 minutes, Pierre says he regained at least 50% of his time, and the group can run as many as eight simulations concurrently—making preprocessing no longer the limiting factor and enabling faster design iteration and more projects.
