CLAAS - Customer Case Study

CLAAS, a world-leading agricultural engineering company that designs tractors, combines, foragers and precision-farming systems, faced rising productivity requirements along with strict weight and size limits and increasingly complex packaging of multifunctional machines. To improve design validation and reduce physical testing, CLAAS turned to ANSYS, using the ANSYS Mechanical solution to support large-scale, full-machine simulations.

ANSYS enabled detailed full-combine finite element models and fast contact formulation so CLAAS could assess interactions between modules and connecting flanges across the entire machine. The implementation delivered considerable time savings in substructure calculations and harvest testing, standardized load cases across variants, and the ability to tackle large problems the team had avoided previously thanks to ANSYS’s performance with large models.
