Banco Products - Customer Case Study

Banco Products, a leading manufacturer of engine cooling systems and radiators, faced the challenge of designing radiators with complex cores—thin sheets with thousands of dimples—while meeting diverse cooling and strength requirements; physically testing each design was time-consuming and costly. To tackle this, Banco Products partnered with ANSYS and used ANSYS Fluent, ANSYS DesignModeler, ANSYS Mechanical and ANSYS HPC Pack to enable a simulation-driven engineering approach.

ANSYS implemented a validated workflow—CAD cleanup in DesignModeler, high-quality meshing, CFD with Fluent (accelerated by ANSYS HPC), and structural/natural-frequency analysis in Mechanical—which produced Fluent results that compared favorably with test data. The ANSYS solution reduced the need for physical prototyping (cutting time and cost), met higher performance and strength targets, and substantially lowered computational resource requirements while accelerating product development.
