Case Study: Ruan achieves standardized Linux configuration management and streamlined operations with Ansible

A Ansible Case Study

Preview of the Ruan Case Study

Ruan - Customer Case Study

Ruan Transportation, a VMware-centric environment running Windows and Linux, faced a configuration-management problem: Linux servers were hand-built with inconsistent users, groups and packages, making the environment hard to manage and scale as needs grew.

Ruan adopted Ansible to standardize and document configurations. They’ve built operational playbooks (start/stop/restart OTM, web-server sync) and are preparing an Ansible Tower rollout to use RBAC for delegating tasks. With roughly 80% of DevOps playbooks complete, they’re automating a multi-hour OTM scale‑out process and getting a more manageable, self-documenting Linux infrastructure.
