Netapp Automates I.T. Tasks for Faster Application Delivery with Red Hat

NetApp, a global data‑management technology company, faced slow, error‑prone IT operations caused by repetitive manual processes and a lack of dynamic storage provisioning. Routine maintenance tasks (for example, updating thousands of NTP clients) consumed hundreds of staff hours and manual storage provisioning blocked the company’s move to containerized, microservices‑based application delivery.

NetApp adopted Red Hat Ansible Engine to automate configuration and maintenance and used Red Hat OpenShift together with NetApp Trident for on‑demand storage provisioning. The changes cut maintenance from weeks to days (the NTP update finished in two days), eliminated hundreds of manual hours and human errors, and accelerated application delivery from weeks to minutes while enabling a shift to hybrid cloud, containers, and self‑service provisioning.
