Case Study: Cogapp achieves repeatable, reliable environment provisioning and faster deployments with Ansible

A Ansible Case Study

Cogapp - Customer Case Study

Cogapp is a digital media agency that builds large-scale, mission-critical projects for institutions like the National Portrait Gallery and MoMA; its recent work includes the Qatar Digital Library. For QDL they needed repeatable environment provisioning and content deployment on Amazon across two availability zones for a complex stack (Drupal front end, Solr, GlusterFS for images, and an IIPImage cluster for on‑the‑fly JPEG2000 conversion).

Cogapp adopted Ansible to build servers, provision developer VMs, and populate sample content, with many team members writing or running playbooks and using Galaxy roles to standardize hardening. The result was the replacement of manual checklists with reusable playbooks that reduce configuration drift, enable exact environment replicas and blue‑green testing, serve as living documentation, and give the team greater confidence and speed when making changes.
