A Ansible Case Study
Ascend Money, Southeast Asia’s largest fintech with more than 40 million customers and operations in six countries, faced fragmentation after rapid growth and acquisitions: six regional teams used different development and deployment practices, slowing collaboration and making it hard to deliver and scale services such as the TrueMoney payments app. The company builds and releases around 100 applications daily and needed a standardized, secure platform to reduce duplicated work and accelerate time to market.
Working with Red Hat Consulting, Ascend Money standardized on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, supported by Red Hat Ansible Tower and Red Hat Satellite, to create a central self-service developer platform with CI/CD, automation, and blue‑green deployments. The new environment cut common tasks from about a week to 2–3 days, gave developers instant access to logs and production-like test environments, enabled nearly 200 developers to be supported by a six‑person ops team, and improved scalability, security, and cross‑country collaboration.
