South Gloucestershire Council launches a 100% accessible climate funding site with Annertech

The customer, South Gloucestershire Council, required a bespoke digital platform for its Investing in Communities, Climate and Nature (ICaN) scheme. The challenge was to create a site that could facilitate fundraising from two distinct audiences—individual residents and corporate investors—while ensuring technical robustness, financial compliance, and ease of use for council staff. They engaged Annertech for website design and Drupal development to address these needs.

Annertech built the platform using LocalGov Drupal, implementing a user-centric design with dual-path journeys and integrating GOV.UK Pay for secure transactions. The solution included a fundraising barometer to track donations and was hosted on green infrastructure to minimize its carbon footprint. The resulting site achieved a perfect 100% performance score and a 100 Lighthouse accessibility rating, successfully showcasing seven climate projects and enabling seamless public and corporate donations.
