Inland Fisheries Ireland boosts organic search 17% with Annertech

Inland Fisheries Ireland, a state agency responsible for protecting and managing Ireland's inland fisheries, faced the challenge of modernizing its outdated, information-heavy website. The old site, built on Joomla!, no longer met user needs as the agency's strategy shifted from providing information to offering online services. Their requirements included improving brand awareness, creating an accessible and user-friendly design, and developing secure online services and payment features. They engaged the digital agency Annertech to address these challenges.

Annertech implemented a new Drupal-based website featuring an intuitive information architecture and 15 user-friendly, accessible forms to facilitate online applications and payments. The solution included a state-of-the-art Apache Solr search function and integrated the Global Pay payment gateway. The results were significant: a 17% increase in organic search traffic, a 34% increase in average session time, and a 40% reduction in page load time. The website is now WCAG and ATAG compliant, providing a fully responsive and accessible experience for all users.
