King County, the largest county in Washington, needed to implement a new electronic counting and tabulation system amid public concern about election security after a very close gubernatorial race and multiple recounts. The county engaged Anitian to help assess the security of the voting system in a real-world elections environment rather than a lab setting.

Anitian created a unique Real-World Election Security Assessment and worked with the equipment vendor and King County to test the system, identify weaknesses, and develop improvements and fixes.
