Anexinet worked with a Cloud Services Providing Company, a leader in cloud solutions and software-based activation for the communications market, to address a major challenge: scaling object storage infrastructure to more than 70 petabytes while keeping cost per gigabyte extremely low. The customer needed a hybrid storage model that could span both onsite and cloud-based platforms.

Anexinet evaluated several object-store technologies, including Ceph, Scality, Cleversafe, and Inktank, and ultimately designed an OpenStack-based architecture using HP Helion and SL-Series server technologies. The new solution delivered a more competitive price per GB than the largest public cloud storage options and supported the customer’s evolving analytics platform built on open source technologies such as Datastax Cassandra.
